Innsbruck

Innsbruck is the fifth largest city in Austria, with 128,000 inhabitants. Innsbruck is particularly popular for its historic old town and the more modern sights, such as the Bergisel ski jump.

Begin your visit to the city in the Maria-Theresien-Straße near the old town. Walking past the Annasäule (St Anne's Column) and the splendid baroque buildings, the symbol of Innsbruck is soon reached: the Golden Roof. The centre of the city has plenty of stores and cafés for shopping or just people-watching.

Tradition meets modernism

Pomp dating from the Middle Ages can be admired in the Imperial Church. Especially impressive is the tomb of the Emperor Maximilian, which is guarded by 28 giant bronze figures. The Folk Art Museum next door offers displays of Tyrolean traditions. And a deeper look into the history of Tyrolean culture can be seen in the Zeughaus.

The newest attraction in Innsbruck is the Bergisel ski jump, created by star architect Zaha Hadid. From the top you have a wonderful panormanic view over the city and the Nordkette mountains towering above.

Innsbruck offers of course much more. We will be happy to help you plan your trip - just ask and we'll be able to give you some helpful tips.
