The Peace Bell in Mösern

2.51m tall, 10 tons in weight and with a diameter of 2.54m - those are the impressive figures of the Peace Bell in Mösern - the largest free-standing bell in the alpine region.

With a good wind, you can also hear the ringing of the Peace Bell in Seefeld. The bellringer Alfred Tribus makes his way every day at 17.00 to rind the bell. It's a tremendous sight to see how the massive bell starts to move before the first ring sounds out.

The Peace Bell is a symbol of the neighbourliness and the co-operation of the ARGE-Alp regions Bavaria, the Tyrol and the South Tyirol. The bell rang for the first time on 12. Oktober 1997 and could be heard far down into the Upper Inn valley.

You can reach the Peace Bell with the regional bus service or at the end of an hour's walk from Seefeld.
